Last week at Music Play classes we talked about some lesser known instruments, including the concertina, penny whistle, and the bouzouki. As luck would have it, on Saint Patrick's Day we got to see some of these instruments live at Slainte in Oakland. Cularan, a local band that started in 2017 and plays traditional Irish music, was on stage! We got to see a concertina, low whistle, violin, guitar, and mandolin. We'll be looking out for Cularan performances around town.
